In the bible but not in the quran (62): where did ishmael dwell? b
The Bible is very confusing about where did Ishmael Dwell. In Genesis 16:12, the Bible (19 different versions) says that Ishmael shall dwell in the face of all his brethren, will live to the east and on the borders of all his kinsmen, shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren, shall dwell over against all his kinsmen, will live in hostility toward all his brothers, Always stirring up trouble, always at odds with his family; will attack all his brothers.
All of these different statements are the translation of: "He will live in front of or facing his brothers"
I do not believe that the Biblical translators are too ignorant to translate "facing his brothers" to "he will live in hostility toward all his brothers, always stirring up trouble, always at odds with his family; and/or he will attack all his brothers."
I am looking for the fair judgment of the smart reader as regards this linguistic issue!
On the other hand, the Noble Quran is warning mankind not to mess up with the Prophets, because it will lead to the Eternal Hell in the Hereafter.

Where Did Ishmael Dwell in the Bible?
Genesis 16:12 gives the answer of this question.
Herein, I will give you an example about the corruption of the translations of the Bible. I have referred to 19 different versions of the Bible looking for the translation of one word only; it is "in the face of".
The following are how the 19 different versions of the Bible translate it according to Genesis 16:12:
---------------
Ishmael shall dwell in the face of all his brethren in two versions of the Bible. As a matter of fact, this is the correct translation
The Hebrew - English Bible According to the Masoretic Text and the JPS 1917 Edition
And he shall dwell in the face of all his brethren.'
Darby Translation
And he shall dwell before the face of all his brethren.
-------------
Ishmael will live to the east of all his brothers in three versions of the Bible:
Accordingly, in the face of became to the east of!
New American Standard Bible
And he will live to the east of all his brothers."
Amplified Bible
And he will live to the east and on the borders of all his kinsmen.
New Life Version
He will live to the east of all his brothers.
-------------
Ishmael will live to the presence of all his brothers in three versions of the Bible:
Therefore, in the face of became in the presence of!
King James Version
And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
New King James Version
And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”
21st Century King James Version
And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
-------------
Ishmael shall dwell over against all his kinsmen (brethren) in two versions of the Bible:
Thus, in the face of became over against!
Also, brethren became kinsmen!
English Standard Version
And he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen."
American Standard Version
And he shall dwell over against all his brethren.
-------------
Ishmael will not be friendly toward any of his relatives in one version of the Bible:
Consequently, in the face of became will not be friendly toward
Also, brethren became relatives
New International Reader's Version
He will not be friendly toward any of his relatives."
-------------
Ishmael will live in hostility toward all his brothers (relatives) in four versions of the Bible:
As a result, in the face of became will live in hostility toward
Also, brethren became relatives in one out of the four versions
New International Version
And he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
New Living Translation
Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”
New International Version - UK
And he will live in hostility towards all his brothers.
Today's New International Version
And he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
-------------
Ishmael is fighting everyone! He always stirring up trouble, always at odds with his family and will attack all his brothers
Look at these four different versions of the Bible and think about how and why the translators have done that.
If they really believe that the Bible is the word of God, they have to be honest in their translations!
And no comment!
Holman Christian Standard Bible
He will live at odds with all his brothers.
The Message
A real fighter, fighting and being fought, Always stirring up trouble, always at odds with his family."
New Century Version
He will attack all his brothers.
Contemporary English Version
Fighting everyone, and everyone fighting him.
-------------
On the other hand, the Scholars in their Biblical commentaries have done the same.
They say that Ishmael grew up a true child of the desert, rude, wild and wayward naughty, unruly, errant, disobedient, badly behaved, and strong-willed. He lived in antagonism, unfriendliness, resentment, aggression, opposition and lack of sympathy enmity.
